Neuroscientist, cell biologist and biophysicist using multi-disciplinary approach to understand exosome mediated intercellular communication in neuronal circuits and apply it for therapy of neurodevelopmental disorders like Rett Syndrome. His postdoctoral work at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Scripps Research involved understanding the role of intrinsic neuronal activity in regulating proliferation of neural stem cell niche in-vivo. He obtained PhD in biophysics and cell biology from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India. He codeveloped a technique to use time resolved fluorescence anisotropy on living cells to reveal nanometer scale structure of lipid rafts. Thomson Reuters judged this landmark work as one of the top 3 in the area of lipid rafts. He also contributed to the discovery of a novel endocytic pathway of GPI-anchored proteins. He was awarded the young scientist medal by Indian National Science Academy.
